Fossil Fuels and International Arms are big business, but they’re killing us and the planet.


But without insurance, business isn’t possible.


Pipelines don’t get built. Bombs don’t get made.


Without insurance, the machinery of extraction and genocide can’t function.

We take action to disrupt insurance companies who enable destruction, pushing them to stop the suffering.

And it’s working.

INSURERS FEEL THE PRESSURE

Most of the biggest Insurers are underwriting environmental destruction and human rights abuses — and the world is starting to notice.

Unlike arms and fossil fuel companies, insurance companies don’t need to support destruction to make money. They also understand risk.

Since launching in 2024, Insure Our Survival has led or supported over 170 actions across the globe.

Together with others, we’ve helped force major firms to drop coverage for specific projects like the East African Crude Oil Pipeline or rule out supporting new fossil fuels altogether.

Now, we’re broadening our attention to include insurers backing regimes that commit mass human rights violations — including those arming and enabling the ongoing genocide in Palestine.

Insurance companies judge risk to create profit. Our actions bring the risks they create to their front doors.

SEPTEMBER 2025: GLOBAL ACTION WAVE

Our last big wave of actions took place in September. We called for coordinated, nonviolent action around the world to expose and disrupt the insurance companies fuelling both climate collapse and violent repression.

We targeted potential insurers of at least 425 carbon bomb projects as well as insurance companies complicit in supplying tools of occupation, surveillance, and state violence.

A huge number of groups from across this globe took action, sending a clear message to insurance companies.
